No special Sun Tea pitcher is needed in order to make good sun tea. I use quart-sized mason jars. Sun tea saves you money in fuel and saves the environment a bit too.
Makes 2 quarts.
Ingredients:
- 8 c room temperature water
- 2 Tbsp dry Jamaica flowers
- 1/2 Tbsp dry mint leaves
- 1 tsp dry Yerba Mate leaves
- pinch natural stevia powder (optional)
- 2-4 lemon slices
Directions:
- Pour 4 cups of the water into each of 2 quart jars.
- Place half of the Jamaica, mint, and Yerba Mate in each of the jars. Stir and apply the lids.
- Set the jars out in the full sun early enough that they will have at least 3 hours of intense heat.
- Bring in the tea and strain it through a fine mesh sieve. Pour it back in the bottles; stir in stevia and lemon slices. Chill until very cold or add ice.
