Buffalo Wing Seitan

Buffalo Wing Terkettes

This recipe originally called for Loma Linda Terkettes, but as they are no longer produced, I have used the Vegetable Steaks which taste similar, but need to be cut to a smaller size.

Serves 4-6.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (15 oz) can Loma Linda Vegetable Steak or similar seitan
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • 1/4 c lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Drain Loma Linda Vegetable Steak. Using kitchen shears, cut the pieces into approximate 1-inch segments.
  2. Coat the seitan pieces with a mixture of garlic powder and onion powder.
  3. In a large skillet over medium high, saute seitan until browned.
  4. Add the butter, hot sauce, honey, lime juice and salt.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for about 2 minutes.
  6. Remove to a platter and serve with Bleu Cheese dressing, celery, and carrot sticks.
