Saltless Seasoning Blend

FSaltless Seasoning Blend

Rather than spending extra money on Mrs. Dash or other saltless seasonings, use what you have in your cupboard to make a similar handy herb blend. This is the recipe I used, but you can make your own recipe from what you have on hand.

Makes about 1/3 cup.


  • 1 Tbsp dry parsley
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 1 tsp savory
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp sumac (or ground dried orange peel)
  • 1 tsp marjoram
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 2/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne
  • 1/4 tsp mace


  1. Place all ingredients in a small bottle, cap it and give it a shake to combine.
  2. Use on baked tofu, lentil loaf, omelets, and a variety of other dishes.
  3. Cap tightly, store away from heat and light. Use within 6 months.
