Homemade Zaatar Seasoning

  • This unsalted seasoning is versatile. Use it on flat bread, in beans, on rice and on hummus. It adds a lovely mid-eastern flavor to your dishes.
  • Makes about 1/2 cup.

    Ingredients:

    • 8 tsp sumac
    • 2 Tbsp raw sesame seeds
    • 2 tsp oregano
    • 2 tsp thyme
    • 2 tsp paprika
    • 2 tsp crushed coriander seed
    • 1 tsp turmeric
    • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
    • 1 tsp cumin powder

    Directions:

    1. Place all ingredients in a small jar and blend well
    2. Seal tightly and use within 6 months.
