Breakfast Sausage Seasoning Mix

I regularly make my recipe for Low Carb TVP Sausage Patties, but I find the seasonings take quite a while to gather together. The recipe below makes it easy to whip up a batch of sausages, because all the spices have been ready-blended. This seasoning mix will work on any breakfast sausage recipe.

Makes about 1 1/2 cups seasoning.


  • 1 Tbsp savory
  • 2 Tbsp thyme
  • 2 Tbsp sage
  • 2 Tbsp black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp gumbo file (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp cumin seeds
  • 2 Tbsp fennel seeds
  • 2 Tbsp granulated garlic
  • 2 Tbsp paprika
  • 1/4 c red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 c onion powder
  • 1/4 c salt
  • 3/4 tsp powdered stevia (optional)


  1. Place all ingredients in a pint-sized jar and stir well.
  2. Seal tightly and stir or shake before each use. Use to season any breakfast sausage.
  3. NOTE: If using this seasoning mix in my Low Carb TVP Sausage Patties recipe, use 5 1/4 tsp of the seasoning mix to replace all spices, salt and stevia in a single batch.
