Every year we look forward to the beautiful flowers that blossom on our cactus plants. We have a drought tolerant garden, as we should in this part of Southern California. We plant an array of low water flowers and we water our vegetable garden from rain barrels under the downspout of our gutter system. By keeping vegetation alive, even during this long-term drought, we are trying to stem erosion and keep moisture in the ground.
