Amish Cucumber Salad

Amish Cucumber SaladFresh cucumbers and dill from the garden make this lovely sour cream salad. This salad will keep 2 days in the refrigerator.

Serves 4-5.


  • 2 large cucumbers
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/2 c sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp minced dill
  • 1 Tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp celery seed
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp white pepper


  1. Peel the cucumbers and slice as thinly as possible. Slice the onion nearly as thin. Place both in large bowl
  2. In a medium bowl, combine remaining ingredients until well blended. Add dressing to cucumbers and onions. Toss well.
  3. Chill at least 4 hours before serving. Garnish with a sprig of fresh dill.
