This is a kind of fun project to do with the children in your life. They can help you cut out different shapes using cookie cutters. Cut the biscuits according to the size of your pet.
Makes about 30 biscuits.
Ingredients:
- 1 c whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 c coconut flour
- 1/2 c chopped peanuts
- 1 Tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1/2 c peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 c warm water
- 1 Tbsp soy bacon bits (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Line a large cookie sheet with parchment or wax paper. In a large bowl, mix together whole wheat flour, coconut flour, peanuts, and nutritional yeast. Set aside. In a separate bowl, mix peanut butter, eggs and warm water until well blended.
- Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients and mix until a stiff dough forms. If needed, add a little more warm water until the dough is cohesive. Place on wax paper and roll to about 3/8? thickness. Sprinkle with soy bacon bits if desired and, using a rolling pin, press them slightly into the dough. Cut into desired shapes. (The dough can be rerolled as often as needed until all your cutting is done.)
- Bake for 90 minutes. Shut off oven and leave biscuits in the oven for two hours, until dry and crunchy. Store in a tightly sealed container for up to 6 months.
