Sticky Terkettes

Sticky Terkettes These sticky little Terkettes are spicy and addictive. I had to go back for seconds on these!

Serves 6.

Ingredients:

  • 1-20 oz can Terkettes, drained, reserving liquid
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp ginger powder
  • 3/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 c apple juice
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 Tbsp molasses
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c broth from Terkettes and/or water
  • sesame seeds for garnish

Directions:

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet on medium high.
  2. Add Terkettes and cook, turning a couple of times, until lightly browned.
  3. Remove Terkettes.
  4. Add remaining ingredients to skillet and heat until any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet are dissolved and everything is well-mixed.
  5. Add Terkettes and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes on low, stirring often. (The liquid will be absorbed into the Terkettes. Watch carefully, so that the Terkettes don’t stick.)
  7. Serve with a sprinkling of sesame seeds and plenty of steamed rice.
